A client favorite, the Ramp Table takes its name from the two and a half inch tall oak planks from which it is constructed. Salvaged from a barn, this wood was used as a ramp to get tractors on and off of trailers. The years of wear burnished the wood the deep coffe tones that stand off from its honey colored cut surfaces. The resulting colorplay is faceted and kaleidoscopic. Assembled to be used and moved easily, there is no metal anywhere in the table. Sturdy through tenons, wedges, and pegs define the aesthetic and practical expression of the piece. Laid out at a height for standing and chopping, the table is used with stool seating - dining on high. Sturdy enough for a dance party, the Ramp Table is also refined enough for candlelit dinners for two.
